Dr. Nate Dudley is co-founder and Executive Director of TrySci Community Biolabs. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in the Department of Biology. As part of his doctoral work he developed a novel screen that used RNA mediated interference to identify new RNAi components during the ‘early’ years of RNAi discovery.

After earning his bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts he has worked in academia for many years at various universities, including the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), the Department of Molecular Biology at Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey and the School of Medicine in the Genetics Department at the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) in Philadelphia, PA.

During Dr. Dudley’s academic training he has directly supervised and mentored high school and middle school students in addition to both undergraduate and graduate students, in hands on experimental research in the fields of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. Dr. Dudley has also been involved for over 20 years in many programs that has helped to increase the success of minority students and women in the sciences.
